The Nollywood Industry has produced several fast rising actors who have made waves in the industry. In an Interview with one of the Fast Rising Actress, US Based Actress Amarachi Igwe. She took us on her journey into acting.
Kindly introduce yourself, stating your family and educational background.
My name is Amarachi Igwe, I attended Christ The King Nursing & Primary School and St Michael and Brilliant International Secondary School. Am from a Family of Seven, with three younger brothers and sisters.
Have you always known you were going to be an Actor, if yes, why? If no, what redirected your course to Acting?
Yes, I fell in love with Music and Acting when I was 9years old, I was member of Children Drama Group and I was also a Choir Member. This gave me a urge to keep pushing by studying Theater Art in School.
Do you feel individually inspired to be creative in your acting skills or you’re an artiste that follows through with the trends?
Yes, I was inspired by Genevieve Nnaji, watched her movie a lot while growing up .
What personal skills would you say has been of tremendous help to your Actingcareer?
I use to sing in Church so it helps me face the camera without any fear
What would you call a major challenge(s) in your career, if you have overcomed it, how did you? If it’s still apparent, what are the possible solutions you’re planning to employ for this/these.
Sex , Sexual Harassment & Extortion from directors, Producers and Marketers , I overcomed it by producing my own movies and maintaining my moral standard.
Do you intend to pass down a legacy of your career to your offsprings and mentees or would you rather be a great actor that came, saw and conquered and disappeared? Why?
Yes I will, I will love my daughter or son to act or become a musician
What would you consider your greatest achievement, if you have achieved it, how did you go about it? If not, what would it be and how do you plan on achieving this set goal?
Becoming an Independent Producer, I associated myself with experienced producers in the industry and they put me through the processes of movie productions.
What are your pressure areas as an actor trying to make a name in the vast and endless possibilities of the Nigeria entertainment industry? Do you see them becoming a win for you soon?
Balancing Film making with my personal life can be changed. But eventually it will be a win for me.
Do you have any exceptionally admired music artiste in your sphere, that you could consider a role model/mentor directly or indirectly?
Yes I get impired by Kennykayuga, he’s also an actor.
What impacts have you made with your Celebrity roles and opportunities handed to you as a celebrity to your fan base and the society at large.
I have been able to reach out to some of my fans in need and some less privilege both financially and materially. Am doing my best to do more. To give back to the society, so help me God.

Amarachi, because I am myself all the time
What is your take on celebrity marriage, would you do it knowing the very busy schedule of thriving actors and do you intend to preserve this union on your end if you do? If not, why?
Marriage is marriage, celebrity or not. as long as two people love and understand each other’s occupation it doesn’t matter what they do. Yes I will marry a celebrity.
What would you advise to people with unexpressed passion for acting who hasn’t found a support board yet?
Keep trying by associating with people already in that line. Education helps a lot.
What was your breakout moment in the entertainment industry and if this had not happened, would you still be pressing further in entertainment as a career?
That was when I produced my first movie in 2014, Professor Omo yes I would continued trying to always do more.
Apart from Acting what else are you currently involved with and why did you choose that path? If nothing, what is the reason for this decision?
Am working also into some other Personal Business, presently am working and living in the United States of Nigeria.
