Chelsea are planning to offer Michy Batshuayi as part of a deal to get their hands on West Ham star Declan Rice, claims a report.
Transfer expert Ian McGarry has claimed that Frank Lampard sees Rice as the “vocal presence” and perfect in a new role for the Blues at the back.
McGarry says England midfielder Rice “indeed is very much fancied by Chelsea with regards to a return” and that has been backed up by The Athletic, who also state Frank Lampard has his eye on the player.
The outlet report that Lampard could use a Belgian striker Batshuayi as a potential makeweight in a bid to land Rice, who reportedly has a price tag of between £50m-£60m.
There’s no hiding from the fact that Batshuayi will be pushed further down the pecking order if Chelsea complete their proposed £54million deal for Timo Werner.
In fact he was already behind Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud, and a training game last week saw the 26-year-old left without a shirt number.
