About 48 hours to his inauguration for a second term, Edo state governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has called for immediate dissolution of the PDP exco from ward to the state level.
He made the call on Monday at a party stakeholders meeting held in his office in Benin City with members of the exco from the wards, Local governments and State present.
The governor speaking through his deputy, Philip Shaibu, said that there is no way a PDP governor can succeed in Edo state with the present crop of party Exco who preceded the governor.
Shaibu said since there was no congress in Etsako West local government, the exco as presently constituted is therefore illegal and of no effect.
He said fresh congresses are therefore necessary at the local government and all other levels, so that the governor does not feel trapped by his own party with a structure outside his control.
Meanwhile ahead of the event, State chairman of the party, Dr Tony Aziegbemi has advised party exco at ward and local government levels against traveling to the swearing-in ceremony.
In a statement, he appreciated them for their support which gave Governor Obaseki electoral victory adding that they should watch all events live and party with their constituents at their various locations.
