To our ENDSARS protesters, I want to share with you two great thoughts:
“If you want to make peace with your enemy, you have to work with your enemy. Then he becomes your partner”
– Nelson Mandela
“Violence is impractical because it is a descending spiral ending in destruction for all.
It is immoral because it seeks to humiliate the opponent rather than win his understanding: it seeks to annihilate rather than convert.
Violence is immoral because it thrives on hatred rather than love. It destroys community and makes brotherhood impossible.
It leaves society in monologue rather than dialogue.
Violence ends up defeating itself.
It creates bitterness in the survivors and brutality in the destroyers.” ~ Martin Luther King
Let’s substitute violence with dialogue.
I pray God to give our President wisdom beyond his own understanding and the courage to choose the right path no matter how narrow the gate. I pray for all in authority over us to have the grace and strength to stand against the temptation to use power as a weapon but rather to carry it reverently as one would a child.
I ask our leaders to recognise that if you genuinely love someone dont ever decorate their eyes with tears, their ears with lies and their hearts with a wound.
And to each of us we must understand that Rumous are carried by haters, spread by fools and accepted by idiots. Let’s stop sharing fake news.
We deserve to know the truth about the Lekki Toll Gate incident and the perpetrators of the wanton destruction
May justice and peace reign in our nation.
Be safe.
