THE UNDEFEATED ISRAEL ADESANYA SETS TO FACE UNDEFEATED PAULO COSTA.
The next big event in the world of fighting that got people talking is UFC 253, where an undefeated Israel Adesanya will face an undefeated Paulo Costa.
As the countdown to the September 26 UFC 253 fight begins, Nigerian born New Zealand-based Mixed Martial Art (MMA) fighter, Israel Adesanya, has vowed to show his challenger, Paulo Costa, that he is a true fighter. The fight, a Pay Per View (PPV) contest, is slated for the Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
While the day approaches, Champion Israel Adesanya and top contender Paulo Costa have been engaging in a heated war of words for almost a year now and with their title fight finally on the horizon, things are only heating up.
A highly anticipated middleweight championship fight and a battle for the vacant light heavyweight championship will headline UFC 253 on Sept. 26.
In the main event, Israel Adesanya will put his middleweight title on the line in his second title defense, taking on Paulo Costa in what has developed into a grudge match. Adesanya won the title last October by knocking out Robert Whittaker. He then beat Yoel Romero in March in a highly disappointing fight by decision. Adesanya is 19-0 in his career and 8-0 in the Octagon, with all eight UFC victories coming since February 2018. Costa is 13-0 in his career and a massive man for the 185-pound division. He has ended 11 of his 13 career fights by knockout.
In less than two years, Adesanya was crowned the undisputed UFC middleweight champion after trumping Australian star, Robert Whittaker, in Melbourne last October.
