Speaking during an unscheduled assessment visit to the school which was commissioned a year ago, Governor Makinde said it is disheartening that see a newly built structure already cracking up and posing danger to the students and teachers in the school.
The Governor who was conducted around the school premises by the Principal, Mrs. Folashade Ayodele expressed concern for the safety of the students and pledged to ensure thorough investigation as well as bringing to book all those culpable.
While speaking after a brief tour of the building, Governor Makinde declared that his administration would not watch while the lives of teachers and students are endangered.
He noted that though the school was only commissioned a few days before the expiration of the tenure of the last administration, the building was no longer functional, with the teachers and students said to no longer feel safe inside the building.
He frowned at the structural defects noticed in the building, stating that the walls and the tiles were already giving way just one year after completion, adding that the structural integrity of the entire building was doubtful considering its present dilapidated state.
Makinde said “I have been receiving reports that the school building has structural challenges. This place was commissioned the week that I took over.
“Even the Oba Akinbiyi they wrote has fallen off. If you go inside, all the tiles are broken. The structural integrity of the entire building is doubtful and we have students and teachers there.
