Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has backed Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side to be back to their best next season.
Gary Neville believes Manchester City will challenge for the title next season.
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has insisted that Manchester City will challenge Liverpool a lot closer for next season’s Premier League title.
Liverpool look set to win their first title for 30 years when the Premier League resumes on June 17, having established a 25-point lead at the top of the table. They need just two more wins from their remaining nine games to seal the title.
Injuries to Leroy Sane and Aymeric Laporte as well as failing to replace Vincent Kompany have played a key role in City falling away this season, whilst Liverpool have blown away all before them.
However, after failing to win the title for the first time in three years under Pep Guardiola, Neville has predicted that City will be back to their best levels next season to challenge Liverpool for the league again.
