Pupils and students of public primary and secondary schools in Ese-Odo and Ilaje Local Government areas of Ondo State on Thursday received no fewer than 300,000 educational materials from the Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC).
The gesture was part of the commission’s strategy to cushion the effects of the economic downturn on the parents and guardians of the beneficiaries.
According to the Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Olugbenga Edema, the programme was made possible by the support of the Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu-led administration for the commission since inception.
He explained that the oil producing communities through the lofty projects embarked on and completed by OSOPADEC was made possible by the passion of the governor for the people.
Edema added that more infrastructure facilities projects would be put in place in the second term of the Governor Akeredolu-led administration to improve socio-economic life of the people in the oil producing communities.
