Paris Saint-Germain are plotting an audacious move to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace this summer, according to reports. Zaha was linked with a move away from Selhurst Park last summer, but Arsenal failed to stump up the cash for the Ivory Coast winger.
Zaha has reportedly emerged as a target for Ligue 1 champions PSG.The winger recently linked up with a new agent, Pini Zahavi, who was instrumental in Neymar’s move to PSG in 2017.
And now, he will reportedly work his magic to get the Ivorian to the Parc des Princes.Borussia Dortmund are also said to be interested, though PSG are leading the way for his signature.
The financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic isn’t expected to impact PSG’s spending, with the oil-rich club having already forked out £45million for Mauro Icardi.
And Zaha is reportedly their next target, according to 90min.com.
Officials from the Parisiens have apparently made contact with Zahavi to try and broker a deal ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Earlier this week, Zaha admitted he wants to start winning trophies at this stage of his career, and hinted he could look to leave the Premier League strugglers this summer.
“I’m 27, trophies is what it’s all about,” said the winger.
“If the opportunity for me to win trophies then 100 per cent.
“That’s 100 per cent what I want in my career, so somehow everyday I’m working towards that.”
Last summer, he seemed destined to be heading to Arsenal, though the Gunners only offered £40m for his services, half the £80m Palace were demanding.
Instead, they ended up paying £72m for Nicolas Pepe, and Zaha admitted he was disappointed not to get the move of his dreams.
“It was nice,” he said of Arsenal’s interest. “Obviously supporting them and having them want you at the same time, leaves you thinking: ‘this is amazing.’
“But things never worked out so you just have to move on as quickly as possible.
“I was thinking this may happen. But my whole family was thinking, ‘wow it is Arsenal’, but it just didn’t work out.”
